It was in college when I knew I wanted to help others as a career and decided to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. The degree appealed to me as it was primarily clinical and addressed not only the individual but also the family and other relationships that are often affected by mental health disorders. I began my career as a therapist in the Spring of 2002 during my final months of graduate school.
For five years, I worked exclusively with children and teens and treated a variety of issues including trauma, depression, grief, and behavioral issues at home and school. In 2007, I began developing my specialty while working at an Intensive Outpatient Program for Anxiety disorders in Sacramento. During this time I also started a private practice. In Fall of 2010, I transitioned to private practice full-time in Midtown Sacramento.
